Kim Soo-hyun Returns to Philippines for Fan Meet After Underage Dating Allegations Cleared

South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun, 38, has been cleared of allegations that he violated the country's Child Welfare Act by dating the late actress Kim Sae‑ron when she was underage. Police concluded in May that the purported evidence – messages and voice recordings – had been fabricated using artificial intelligence.

Following the clearance, Kim announced a fan meet in Manila on 2 October, organized with Filipino clothing brand Bench. In a video campaign he expressed gratitude to fans, saying he missed them and was happy to return. The event marks his first public appearance after a 16‑month hiatus caused by the controversy, and fans in the Philippines and across the region have responded enthusiastically.
