South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun has made his first public appearance in over a year, appearing as a special guest at the Mahakarya RCTI 37 anniversary event in Jakarta, Indonesia, on August 23, 2026. During the broadcast, he performed the song ‘Dreaming’ from the soundtrack of the drama ‘Dream High’ and acted as a ‘food expert,’ recommending Korean dishes like Galbitang and Janchi-guksu.

This appearance marks a significant return to the entertainment industry following a hiatus caused by personal controversies involving his past relationship with the late actress Kim Sae Ron. Legal investigations by the Seongdong Police Station in Seoul were closed in July 2026, clearing him of allegations regarding a relationship with a minor. Additionally, YouTuber Kim Se Ui from the Garosero Research Institute was arrested for fabricating evidence related to the matter.
