Kim Sun-tae faces business struggles after leaving public service

Kim Sun-tae, the popular YouTuber formerly known as ‘Chungju-man’ for his work with Chungju City, has revealed that his private business is facing significant operational difficulties. In a recent video titled ‘Kim Sun-tae Promotion,’ he disclosed that a decrease in work and the recent resignation of an employee have placed a heavy burden on his company.

Kim noted that despite it being a peak season, his business feels as though it is in a ‘cold winter.’ To navigate these challenges, he is reconsidering previous refusals of lecture invitations and is focusing more heavily on advertising and promotional activities. He expressed a desire to return to his roots and work with more desperation, even bowing to advertisers in his content.

Kim rose to fame as a civil servant who grew the ‘Chung TV’ channel to nearly 900,000 subscribers through low-cost, high-efficiency content. After leaving public service in February, his personal channel quickly surpassed 1 million subscribers. However, he recently faced controversy and withdrew from a KBS YouTube original program following criticism regarding sensitive content handling.
