Kim Taek-woo to lead CMAAO as Seoul hosts regional medical assembly
Kim Taek-woo, president of the Korean Medical Association, has been inaugurated as the 43rd president of the Council of Medical Associations of Asia and Oceania (CMAAO).
To mark this leadership transition, the 2026 CMAAO Seoul General Assembly will be held in Seoul from September 2 to 4. This event, the first of its kind in South Korea in 21 years, will host approximately 80 representatives from 11 countries.
A primary focus of the assembly will be the discussion of ‘medical professional autonomy.’ Through a symposium and a general assembly, member associations aim to share regional challenges and adopt a joint resolution regarding the professional judgment and autonomy of physicians.
