Kim Weiss named head coach of PWHL Las Vegas expansion team

Kim Weiss has been named the head coach of the new PWHL expansion team in Las Vegas. Weiss transitions to the role from a position as an assistant coach in the American Hockey League, drawing on her four years of experience with Team USA to facilitate the move.

General manager Dominique DiDia, a former teammate of Weiss at Trinity College, led the hiring process. The team is one of four new franchises joining the league this fall under a single ownership entity. While the franchise's nickname has yet to be announced, the team will host games at T-Mobile Arena and Lee’s Family Forum.

Weiss noted that her transition has been supported by veteran players including Erin Ambrose, Hayley Scamurra, and Nicole Hensley.
