Kim Yo-jong condemns G7, says denuclearization of North Korea impossible

Kim Yo-jong, director of the Workers' Party of Korea, issued a statement via KCNA rejecting the G7 summit’s call for North Korea’s denuclearisation. She accused the Group of Seven of being “the main culprit of nuclear proliferation” and called the G7’s non‑proliferation rhetoric “outdated”. Kim asserted that denuclearisation “will never materialise” and that any attempt to force North Korea to abandon its nuclear arsenal would cross a “red line”. She reiterated that nuclear weapons are a sovereign right and a core security guarantee for the DPRK. The remarks came after the G7 leaders met in Canada and issued a declaration urging North Korea to dismantle its nuclear programme in line with UN Security Council resolutions.
