Kim Young-gwang apologizes following retaliatory driving allegations

Former South Korean national football goalkeeper Kim Young-gwang has issued a public apology following allegations of retaliatory driving. While Kim stated that he received a decision of non-indictment and no charges from both police and prosecution, he expressed regret for his driving behavior.

The incident occurred in March near a tunnel in Mapo-gu, Seoul, when a taxi driver reported being threatened by an SUV that overtook them and drove aggressively without maintaining a safe distance. Although investigators concluded there was insufficient evidence to prove intentional harm or malicious intent, Kim acknowledged that his driving could have caused anxiety or discomfort to others.

Kim, who retired from professional football in 2023 and has since appeared on various television programs, stated he would reflect on his driving habits to ensure more responsible and cautious behavior on the road.
