Kimberly Motes named President and CEO of Hennepin Arts

Kimberly Motes will transition from her role as executive director of Chicago Shakespeare Theater to become the new president and CEO of Hennepin Arts in Minneapolis. Motes, a veteran of the Twin Cities theater scene, is scheduled to begin her new leadership role on November 30.

During her three-year tenure at Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Motes worked alongside Artistic Director Edward Hall to produce 35 plays and musicals, including 10 North American world premieres and two productions that moved to Broadway. She was also noted for fostering commercial partnerships for major productions.

Hennepin Arts, a nonprofit that manages four theaters in downtown Minneapolis, including the Orpheum, Pantages, and State theaters, expects Motes to drive economic vitality and revitalize the Hennepin Theatre District. The organization hosts over 470 ticketed events annually and draws more than 600,000 visitors each year.
