Kimchi master Park Mi-hee reveals past as Daewoo Group housekeeper
Kimchi master Park Mi-hee, CEO of Domisol Food, shared her life story on the KBS 2TV program ‘Boss in the Ear’. Park, who has built a company with annual sales approaching 50 billion won, revealed that she previously worked as a housekeeper for the late Daewoo Group Chairman Kim Woo-jung.
During her time at the Chairman's residence, she earned a monthly salary of 800,000 won, which was approximately ten times the average female wage at the time. Park also detailed her past financial struggles, including facing bankruptcy and accumulating significant debt due to business failures and factory restructuring.
Her journey from working in a textile factory kitchen at age 16 to managing households for prominent business families, and eventually finding success through a restaurant and her kimchi business, was highlighted on the program.
