Kimi AI Model Valuation Rises to $31.5 B as ARR Surpasses $300 M

Kimi, the large‑model product of Moonlight, completed a financing round that lifted its pre‑money valuation to $31.5 billion, up from $20 billion in the prior round. The company disclosed that its annual recurring revenue (ARR) exceeded $300 million in mid‑June.

API sales now account for more than 70 % of Kimi’s total revenue and are continuing to grow, reflecting a shift toward enterprise and developer usage. The increase in ARR is attributed to higher developer call volume and higher‑priced API tiers following recent model upgrades. Investors are viewing the stronger commercial traction as a signal that the model’s performance improvements are translating into sustainable revenue streams.

The data highlights a broader trend in the large‑model market where API‑driven income is becoming the primary source of stable cash flow, and where valuations are rising sharply as firms demonstrate the ability to monetize advanced AI capabilities at scale.
