Kimi Antonelli fastest in FP2 at Austrian Grand Prix

Italian Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli set the quickest lap in the second free‑practice session (FP2) for the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring on 26 June 2026, recording a time of 1:07.014. He edged McLaren’s Oscar Piastri by 0.237 seconds, with teammate Lando Norris a further tenth behind. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen was fourth, half a second off the lead, while Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc completed the top eight.

The session was marked by limited running from Cadillac, which faced recurring technical issues, and teams used the hour to fine‑tune race‑pace setups ahead of qualifying. Antonelli’s pace reinforced Mercedes’ strong showing and set the stage for a tightly contested battle for pole position on Sunday.
