Kimo Pope claims five wickets to level T20I series against India

West Indies fast bowler Kimo Pope set a new record during the fourth T20I against India at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Pope claimed five wickets for 41 runs, dismissing Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Prince Yadav, and Axar Patel.

With this performance, Pope became the first bowler to take a five-wicket haul against India in a T20I match on Indian soil. His performance helped West Indies secure a 24-run victory, leveling the five-match series at 2-2. This marked Pope’s second five-wicket haul in T20Is, following a previous achievement against Bangladesh in 2022.

In contrast to the bowling success, Indian batter Ishan Kishan enters the series with a strong historical record at the Hyderabad venue. Across 18 T20 matches played at the stadium, Kishan has scored 547 runs, including one century and three half-centuries, maintaining a strike rate of 160.41.
