Kinameru Farm launches Buso-mai brand and curry

Kinameru Farm, located in Ora Town, Gunma Prefecture, has launched a new product line called ‘Buso-mai Curry’ as of August 14. Rather than being a specific rice variety, ‘Buso-mai’ is a product brand that combines pesticide-free rice—primarily the ‘Nijinokirameki’ and ‘Inochi no Ichi’ varieties—with character-driven content and illustrations.

Farm representative Tomoki Moroi explained that the curry is a spice-based product designed to complement the rice, featuring ingredients like cardamom, cumin, coriander, and red wine. The product is available in both spicy and non-spicy versions. The brand utilizes an original character, ‘Kinameru,’ to create a gateway for consumers to become interested in agriculture through manga and illustrations.

Currently, the products are sold exclusively through the farm’s official online shop via a pre-order system based on harvest availability. The farm also plans to offer the curry as a lunch menu item at the ‘Kinu to Hitotoki’ cafe starting in early September.
