Separately, in Kincardine, Ontario, officials are positioning the municipality to attract potential data centre investment. While no formal proposals have been submitted, Kincardine CAO Alan Smith highlighted the area's available land and established energy sector, including Bruce Power, as key advantages for large-scale computing infrastructure. The municipality has also submitted recommendations to the province regarding the development of a Data Centre Playbook, advocating for stronger municipal involvement and environmental protections.
