Digital Week and Children's Book Week launch in Belgium and the Netherlands

Various regional initiatives in Belgium and the Netherlands are promoting digital literacy and reading through dedicated event weeks.

In Belgium, Digital Week is taking place from October 5 to 16. In Aalst, the program focuses on the ‘Evolution of the digital world,’ offering activities ranging from Bee-Bot programming for children to retro gaming. In Brugge, the city is hosting mobile digital help points and information sessions on internet safety and fraud prevention. Bertem is also participating with workshops on phishing, online administration, and artificial intelligence.

In the Netherlands, the 72nd edition of Children's Book Week (Kinderboekenweek) has launched with the theme ‘Spot aan!’ (Lights on!). The event, running until October 11, aims to inspire children through various activities including theater workshops, book exchanges, and storytelling sessions across several municipalities.
