Kinetics to convert Arctic Voyager into new FSRU
Kinetics has announced plans to convert the liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier Arctic Voyager into a Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU). The vessel, to be renamed LNGT Akdeniz, is expected to be delivered in the third quarter of 2028.
Upon completion, the LNGT Akdeniz will feature a storage capacity of approximately 143,000 cubic meters and a regasification flow rate of 650 million standard cubic feet per day. The vessel will be equipped with Moss-type spherical cargo tanks and has an expected economic lifespan of 20 years.
Kinetics General Manager Mehmet Katmer noted that there is strong global demand for flexible and rapidly deployable regasification infrastructure to support energy security. The company, founded by Karpowership, focuses on developing and operating floating LNG infrastructure and next-generation energy solutions.
