Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV set for December release
Deep Silver and developer KING Art Games have announced that Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV will launch on PC on December 3, 2026. Players who purchase the Commander Edition will receive early access starting November 30.
This installment marks a return to classic real-time strategy (RTS) roots, emphasizing base building, resource management, and large-scale army control. The game features four playable factions: Space Marines, Orks, Necrons, and the Adeptus Mechanicus, each with unique mechanics and dedicated campaigns. The setting is the planet Kronus, featuring over 70 missions with branching narrative choices.
Key features include the return of the cooperative survival mode, ‘The Last Stand’, as well as multiplayer modes on 30 different maps and customizable skirmish matches. A new enhanced ‘Painter’ tool allows for deep visual customization of units. The Year One content roadmap includes free updates such as the return of ‘Crusade Mode’, new maps, and two large story expansion packs.
