King Charles III and Queen Camilla attend Braemar Gathering
King Charles III and Queen Camilla attended the annual Braemar Gathering in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, on September 5. The event, which draws approximately 16,000 spectators to the small village, features traditional Highland games including caber tossing, tug of war, Highland dancing, and piping competitions.
In the musical competitions, Zephan Knichel from British Columbia was named the overall champion piper, while Ben McClamrock won the piobaireachd Gold Medal. The royal couple participated in the festivities at the Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park, continuing a tradition of royal patronage that dates back to 1832.
The gathering serves as a significant showcase of Scottish culture and community, bringing large crowds to the Cairngorms National Park region.
