King Charles and Queen Camilla issue message to Ukraine on Independence Day

King Charles III and Queen Camilla have issued a message of support to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to mark Ukraine's Independence Day. The monarchs interrupted their summer holiday to extend sincere wishes to the people of Ukraine, expressing hope for peace, security, and prosperity.

In a personal message released via the British Embassy in Kyiv, the King noted he was “greatly encouraged” by the enduring friendship between the United Kingdom and Ukraine. He praised the nation's “proud history, rich culture and indomitable national spirit.” President Zelensky described the royal message as “deeply moving and exceptionally meaningful.”
