King Charles hit by risotto as TV presenter Anna Williamson recounts awkward encounter
TV personality and King's Trust ambassador Anna Williamson said she accidentally spat pea risotto in King Charles III's face during a reception at his Highgrove residence. While attempting a curtsy, bow and handshake all at once, she fell forward with the finger bowl of risotto, splashing it onto the monarch. Williamson recalled that the King helped her steady herself and that everyone remained calm.
She described the mishap as an ice‑breaker, noting the King's good‑natured response. The incident joins other light‑hearted royal blunders, such as a seagull pooping on the King's jacket during a visit to Newcastle earlier this year.
