Prince Harry and Meghan's secret holiday on Scottish island Tanera Mòr
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle travelled to the private Scottish island Tanera Mòr in July 2026 with their children, Archie (7) and Lilibet (5). The island, the largest of the Summer Isles off Scotland’s northwest coast, is owned by hedge‑fund billionaire Ian Wace, who bought it in 2017 for about £1.7 million. Since the purchase Wace has invested more than £100 million, planting roughly 100,000 trees, restoring a dozen houses and building nearly five kilometres of road.
The Sussexes’ visit was kept secret; neither their representatives nor the island’s owners commented publicly. The trip followed a brief stay in Portugal at the couple’s secondary residence in Melides and other UK engagements. More than half of the island’s 1,000 recent guests were members of the Taigh Mor charitable foundation that supports armed‑forces and emergency‑service personnel.
