King Charles III advised Prince William to prioritize family over duty

King Charles III reportedly advised his son, Prince William, to prioritize his family over royal duties to avoid repeating the King's own perceived mistakes. According to royal biographer Ingrid Seward, the monarch urged William to make time for his private life before royal obligations became all-consuming.

Prince William appears to have followed this guidance. Following his marriage to Princess Kate in 2011, he maintained roles such as working for the Royal Air Force and as a pilot for the East Anglian Air Ambulance before committing to full-time royal duties. In 2024, William significantly reduced his public engagements to support his wife following her cancer diagnosis and preventative chemotherapy.
