King Charles III reaches record high approval rating

King Charles III has reached his highest public approval rating since beginning his reign, according to a July 2026 YouGov tracker. The poll indicates that 68% of Britons believe the King is doing a good job, a six percentage point increase since April. Conversely, 16% of respondents believe he is doing a bad job.

Support for the institution of the monarchy remains strong, with 64% of Britons stating the UK should continue to have a monarchy, while 23% favor an elected head of state.

The Prince and Princess of Wales continue to be the most popular members of the Royal Family. Prince William holds a 76% favorability rating, followed closely by Catherine, Princess of Wales, at 74%. Princess Anne also maintains high popularity with a 70% positive opinion rating.
