King Charles III reveals tax payments, will not move into Buckingham Palace

King Charles III has disclosed his personal tax contributions for the first time. He paid £12.9 million in the 2024‑25 fiscal year, bringing the total paid since his accession to about £30 million over three years. Prince William also had his figures released, showing a payment of £7.8 million for the same period.

The royal household announced that Charles and Queen Camilla will not reside in Buckingham Palace, opting to remain at Clarence House. A ten‑year renovation of the palace is scheduled to finish next year, with the goal of increasing public access. The Sovereign Grant for 2026‑27 will be £137.9 million, before being reduced to £99.9 million annually from 2027‑2032.
