King Charles III sells racehorse Point of Law to Australian consortium

King Charles III and Queen Camilla have sold their successful three-year-old racehorse, Point of Law, to an Australian consortium led by prominent trainer Ciaron Maher. While the exact purchase price remains undisclosed, reports suggest the deal is worth a seven-figure sum, given the horse's significant earnings of over £130,000 in European prize money.

Point of Law, a winner of the Group 3 Bahrain Trophy, is currently in Newmarket under the supervision of trainer Harry Eustace as he prepares for the journey to Australia. Ciaron Maher reportedly traveled to the United Kingdom personally to inspect the horse before finalizing the acquisition.

Royal racing advisor John Warren noted that such sales are standard practice within the royal breeding operations, as most colts are eventually sold. Experts highlighted the horse's potential as a primary driver for the sale, noting that despite his successes, he has competed in relatively few races and continues to show strong developmental progress.
