King Charles III sends condolences following death of Carlo Petrini

King Charles III has sent a personal letter of condolence to the family of Carlo Petrini, the founder of the Slow Food movement, following his death.

In the letter sent from Buckingham Palace, the King expressed his deep sadness, stating that learning of Petrini's passing was a “terrible blow.” He noted that knowing Petrini and witnessing his extraordinary achievements with Slow Food had been “one of the greatest joys” of his life. The King recalled their long-standing relationship, which dates back to 2004 during the first Terra Madre event in Turin.

Petrini, known for his visionary commitment to food culture, is remembered for his work in promoting sustainable food systems and his significant influence on global gastronomy.
