King Copper Discovery expands Colquemayo project in Peru
King Copper Discovery Corp., through its operator Aurora Copper Peru SAC, has significantly expanded its footprint in the Moquegua region of Peru. The company acquired eight additional concessions totaling approximately 7,170 hectares, located north of its Colquemayo project.
This acquisition more than doubles the company's total controlled area, increasing it from 6,600 hectares to 13,770 hectares. The new land was selected based on historical data and satellite imagery indicating geochemical anomalies of copper, gold, and molybdenum, reinforcing the company's view of Colquemayo as a district-scale project with potential for multiple porphyry systems.
The expansion follows the approval of the company's Environmental Impact Statement (DIA). King Copper is preparing to launch a diamond drilling campaign consisting of up to 36,010 meters across 59 holes. The program is fully funded following a US$15 million private placement completed in September 2025.
