King Diamond addresses Andy La Rocque departure
King Diamond has addressed the departure of longtime guitarist Andy La Rocque, who had been a fundamental member of the Danish metal band since 1987. The frontman clarified that the split was not the result of a sudden conflict, but rather a gradual divergence in personal priorities and life directions.
La Rocque, who is also a producer at Sonic Train Studios in Sweden, has increasingly focused on his studio work and other musical projects. King Diamond noted that the decision became clearer as touring plans evolved, suggesting that La Rocque’s interest in extensive touring had diminished. The separation was described as mutual and conducted on friendly terms.
To fill the vacancy, the band has brought in Greek guitarist Gus G, formerly of Firewind and Ozzy Osbourne, to join the lineup.
