King faces potential strike over collective bargaining disputes

Unions Unionen and Sveriges Ingenjörer have issued a strike notice against the mobile gaming developer King, the creator of Candy Crush Saga. The strike is scheduled to begin on September 25 at 05:00 if no resolution is reached regarding collective bargaining agreements.

The dispute follows more than a year of negotiations. Unionen representatives stated that while employees value King as a workplace, they are seeking collective agreements to ensure long-term security and greater influence over workplace conditions. King, which has been part of Microsoft since 2022, reportedly informed unions in June that it did not intend to sign an agreement.

The potential walkout would affect employees at King's offices in Stockholm and Malmö. Sveriges Ingenjörer reported having approximately 100 members at the company, while Unionen also maintains a significant presence among the firm's staff.
