King faces strike notice in Sweden over collective bargaining

Swedish trade unions have issued a strike notice against the gaming company King, the developer of Candy Crush Saga, following the company's rejection of a proposed collective bargaining agreement.

Initial strike notices were filed by Unionen and Sveriges Ingenjörer on September 15. Since then, additional unions including Naturvetarna, DIK, and Akademikerförbundet SSR have announced intentions to strike in solidarity. Unionen stated that members are seeking greater influence over workplace terms, pensions, insurance, and job security.

Mediation is currently underway. If an agreement is not reached, employees are scheduled to strike on September 25. King's Chief Operating Officer, Ulrika Högårds, stated that the company offers competitive employment terms that meet or exceed those provided under a collective agreement and remains committed to a transparent dialogue with union representatives.
