King Felipe VI closes Indudef defense forum in Córdoba

King Felipe VI presided over the closing ceremony of the International Forum on the Defense Industry (Indudef) in Córdoba, Spain. During the event, the King visited various exhibition stands to review the latest technological developments and engage with vocational training projects.

Juanma Moreno, President of the Junta de Andalucía, highlighted the region's critical role in the national defense and aerospace sectors. Andalusia currently accounts for approximately 22% of the Spanish defense industry, representing 1.38% of the regional GDP and generating over 16,000 direct jobs. The sector reports annual revenues exceeding 3.2 billion euros and exports totaling more than 1.1 billion euros.

Major companies such as Airbus, Navantia, Indra, and Santa Bárbara were noted as leaders within the regional supply chain. The forum, organized by the UGT union, emphasized the industry's capacity for innovation, specialized training, and knowledge transfer.
