King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard release electronic album Alien Metal

Australian psych-rock band King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard have released their 28th studio album, titled ‘Alien Metal’. The project marks a significant stylistic shift for the group, moving away from their traditional guitar-based instrumentation toward a fully electronic, fast-paced sound characterized by heavy beats and synthesizers.

The album was created by capturing an hour-long jam session and applying creative editing to maintain a relentless, kinetic energy. The lead single, ‘Level 5’, draws comparisons to the breakbeat and jungle sounds of The Prodigy.

Following the release, the band has announced a single performance in Italy scheduled for June 11, 2027, at the Sequoie Music Park in Bologna. This concert will serve as an opportunity for fans to experience the new material live.
