King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard release new single ‘Kill for the Steel’

Australian band King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard has released a new single titled ‘Kill for the Steel’. The track, which features heavy rhythms and electronic vocals, is part of their upcoming 28th studio album, ‘Alien Metal’.

The forthcoming album is described as having a darker, industrial techno influence, developed through the band’s use of a custom-built modular synthesizer rig. While an official release date for ‘Alien Metal’ has not been announced, the band has revealed the tracklist, which includes songs such as ‘Sapience’, ‘Alien Metal’, and ‘Level 5’.

The release coincides with upcoming performances, including the band’s self-curated Field of Vision II festival in Buena Vista, Colorado, from August 14th to 16th. Following the festival, the group is scheduled to perform in New York at Forest Hills Stadium and Brooklyn’s Under the K Bridge Park, before returning to Australia in October for a tour including shows in Sydney and Melbourne.
