King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard unveil title track “Alien Metal” from upcoming techno album

Australian psychedelic band King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have released the title track “Alien Metal” from their forthcoming techno/EDM album, also named Alien Metal, slated for release later this summer 2026. The song was created on the band’s modular Eurorack rig nicknamed “Nathan,” which they use in live rave shows. Guitarist Joey Walker said the track “goes really hard, but it also goes to really interesting places,” while vocalist Stu Mackenzie noted it “completely rewired my brain.”

The band announced a series of North American and Australian tour dates to promote the new material. In the United States they will perform a three‑night run at Forest Hills Stadium in New York (Aug 20‑22), a “Rave Show” at Under the K Bridge Park in Brooklyn (Aug 23), and a three‑day appearance at the Field of Vision II Festival in Buena Vista, Colorado (Aug 14‑16). An Australian leg follows in October, with shows in Thirroul, Sydney and Melbourne. Their previous album was 2025’s Phantom Island.
