King Haakon to visit Narvik and Finnmark military units

King Haakon will conduct his first official regional visits to Narvik and the military forces in Finnmark on October 13 and 14. In Narvik, the King is scheduled to deliver a speech at a public event held at the town hall square.

Following the visit to Narvik, the King will travel to Finnmark to meet with military personnel and local authorities. His itinerary includes visiting the Jegerbataljonen in Sør-Varanger to meet with officers and conscripts. On October 14, he will meet with the Finnmark Police District and the Border Commissioner before visiting the Finnmark Brigade headquarters at Porsangmoen.

During the military portion of the trip, the King will meet with several newly established units of the Finnmark Brigade, including the Kristiansten artillery battalion, the Skoganvarre signal company, and the Porsanger battalion. He will also receive briefings from the Finnmark Home Guard District 17, Forsvarsbygg, and the Finnmark Technical Workshop.
