King Harald V of Norway leaves four municipalities unvisited

King Harald V of Norway completed official visits to 353 of the country's 357 municipalities during his reign. Following his death on August 28 at the age of 89, four municipalities remained without an official royal visit: Siljan, Nissedal, Rindal, and Høylandet.

While Høylandet never received an official visit, the local mayor, Ole Joar Flaat, noted that the King had visited the area privately more than ten times, primarily for salmon fishing. Flaat described the King as a skilled fisherman who appreciated the opportunity to be among ordinary people and step away from his official duties.
