King Khalid International Airport hit by missile attack in Riyadh

A missile attack targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has resulted in at least 12 deaths and 309 injuries. The victims include four Saudi nationals and eight foreign nationals from countries including the United States, Bangladesh, Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, and Sudan.

The Saudi-led coalition has attributed the strike to the Houthi movement in Yemen. This incident marks the third attack on the Riyadh airport this week. Following the strike, airport operations were temporarily suspended to allow for damage assessment and security verification. Major airlines, including Etihad and Qatar Airways, have cancelled or diverted flights.

In response, the Saudi Ministry of Defense described the attack as a war crime and vowed a decisive response. U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States is evaluating whether to join Saudi-led military strikes against the Houthis and indicated he would speak with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The Houthi movement has warned aviation companies to avoid Saudi airspace, claiming it is a military operation zone, though they excluded Mecca and Medina from their warning.
