King Mswati III summons Imbali for Shiselweni Umhlanga

King Mswati III has summoned the Imbali from the Shiselweni Region to the Mbangweni Royal Residence for the Shiselweni Umhlanga, scheduled to take place from September 11 to 13, 2026.

The three-day cultural event aims to celebrate unity, tradition, and Eswatini’s heritage. Participating maidens are expected to arrive on September 11 carrying reeds, a central element of the ceremony. To ensure the welfare and guidance of the participants, each participating chiefdom is required to provide four males and four females to support the maidens during the gathering.
