King of Conte 2026 finalists announced

The finalists for the TBS comedy competition ‘King of Conte 2026’ have been announced. Out of 3,445 entries, 10 comedy duos have secured spots in the final, with an additional winner joining via a resurrection round.

Nippon no Shacho, the inaugural double-impact champions, have advanced to the finals for the first time in two years, aiming for a historic second title. Meanwhile, the duo Nanamagari has returned to the final stage after a 10-year hiatus, marking one of the longest gaps between appearances in the competition's history.

During the press conference, finalists shared their ambitions and rivalries. Nanamagari’s members humorously expressed both their satisfaction at returning and their desire to win, while Tsuji Classic discussed the financial realities of the prize money, noting that after taxes, the current payout stands at approximately 4.08 million yen.
