King Peter I Karađorđević's crown exhibited in Leskovac

The National Museum in Leskovac is hosting a special exhibition titled ‘From Cannon to Crown – Coronation Insignia of King Peter I’. The exhibit features the crown of King Peter I Karađorđević, a significant symbol of Serbian statehood.

The crown is historically unique because it was crafted from parts of a cannon used during the First Serbian Uprising, linking the struggle for liberation to the establishment of the modern Serbian kingdom. In addition to the crown, visitors can view other coronation regalia, including a scepter and a mace.

Due to the rarity of the crown leaving Belgrade, museum officials noted this is a unique opportunity for the public to view the artifact. The exhibition is held in the museum hall and is open to the public through Monday, September 21.
