King Philippe of Belgium to conduct state visit to Kazakhstan
King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium are scheduled to conduct a state visit to Kazakhstan from October 11 to 14, 2026. The royal couple will visit the capital, Astana, and the city of Almaty.
A large delegation of 110 people will accompany the monarchs, including 25 to 26 CEOs and approximately seven to 11 university rectors. The visit aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation across economic, academic, cultural, and scientific sectors.
A key component of the program is the fourth edition of the Kazakh-Belgian Business Council, which will focus on sectors such as logistics and agriculture. Discussions are also expected to cover the Trans-Caspian transport corridor, a strategic trade and transport route between Europe and Asia that bypasses Russia.
Various agreements are anticipated to be signed by both business leaders and academic representatives during the trip. This visit follows recent Belgian diplomatic efforts in Central Asia, including the opening of an embassy in Uzbekistan.
