King Vocalist stars see diverging career paths in Hong Kong

The four breakout stars from the talent show ‘King Vocalist’ are seeing diverging career paths. Yiu Cheuk-fei recently held her first solo concert at the Mong Kok Flower Power venue, attended by many industry peers. She announced plans for a concert in Macau this December before returning to the United States for her studies.

Yim Ming-hei performed at the ‘Lavo Concert’ at AsiaWorld-Expo alongside Janice Ip on the same night as Yiu’s concert. Despite public speculation regarding a rivalry, Yim noted that the two singers exchanged well-wishes and flower baskets. Yim is scheduled to hold a solo concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum in November.

Janel Yam has also completed her first solo concert, though she recently faced online criticism regarding whether she had invited fellow contestant Chung Yau-mei to attend. Meanwhile, Chung Yau-mei has seen a decrease in work following recent image controversies and missed out on a lead role in the drama ‘Come Home Love: Lo and Behold’, opting instead to travel to New Zealand.
