Dutch Royal Family hosts biennial Council of State dinner

King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima, and Princess Catharina-Amalia hosted a formal biennial dinner for members of the Council of State at Noordeinde Palace in The Hague. The event serves as a gesture of appreciation for the Council's work as an independent advisory body to the government and parliament.

During his speech, the King welcomed Sybrand van Haersma Buma, the new vice-president of the Council of State, and noted the institution's upcoming 500th anniversary. The dinner, which was originally scheduled for September but postponed due to the funeral of King Harald of Norway, was held to honor the members of the high administrative court and advisory body.

Princess Amalia, who has held a seat on the Council since turning 18, attended the gala alongside her parents. The royal family used the occasion to emphasize their connection to the institution and its vital role in the Dutch constitutional system.
