Kingdom Holding Company completes 70% stake acquisition in Al Hilal SFC
Kingdom Holding Company has completed the acquisition of a 70% stake in Al Hilal SFC from the Public Investment Fund (PIF). The transaction, valued at 840 million Saudi riyals, follows a share purchase agreement signed on April 16.
The deal is based on a total asset valuation of approximately 1.4 billion riyals, with Al Hilal's total equity estimated at 1.2 billion riyals. Kingdom Holding Company intends to fund the acquisition through its own resources. Following the transaction, the Public Investment Fund will retain a 30% stake in the club.
This acquisition aligns with the Saudi Vision 2030 goals to develop the sports sector and enhance its economic and investment contributions. The Al Hilal Board of Directors welcomed the new majority owner, noting that the move aims to bolster the club's competitive and investment capabilities both locally and internationally.
Al Hilal, established as a commercial entity in 2023, has a sporting history dating back to 1957 and has secured 90 official titles, including four AFC Champions League trophies and 21 Saudi League titles.
