Kingmakers gameplay reveal shows modern weapons in medieval battles

Publisher tinyBuild and developer Redemption Road Games have released a 12-minute gameplay deep dive for Kingmakers, a third-person shooter featuring real-time strategy elements. Set in medieval England, the game utilizes a time-travel premise where the protagonist uses modern weaponry—including assault rifles, shotguns, grenades, armored SUVs, and attack helicopters—to combat medieval armies equipped with swords and bows.

Technically, the game features real-time battles involving thousands of soldiers simultaneously. Each unit is managed by a multi-threaded artificial intelligence system that controls movement, behavior, and loyalty. Players can engage in direct combat or switch to a strategic role, commanding formations of archers, swordsmen, and cavalry, or building fortifications.

Kingmakers will support cooperative play for up to four players and is scheduled to launch in Early Access on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. A specific release date has not yet been announced.
