King's College Hospital experts link sleep apnea to chronic fatigue

Experts from King's College Hospital warn that sleep apnea may be a hidden cause of persistent fatigue and exhaustion. This common medical condition, which often goes undiagnosed, involves repeated interruptions in breathing during the night as throat muscles relax and obstruct the airway.

While individuals may not remember these interruptions, they prevent the body from reaching deep, restorative sleep. Symptoms often include loud snoring and daytime tiredness, which can be mistaken for stress or aging. If left untreated, sleep apnea can lead to serious health complications, including high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and memory issues.
