Kingsbridge hosts ‘100 Languages’ youth art exhibition

The ‘100 Languages’ exhibition is opening in Kingsbridge, showcasing collaborative works created through Harbour House’s community engagement programmes. Running from October 10 to November 21, the exhibition features projects developed by young people in partnership with artists Erika Cann, Llyr Davies, and Sam Machell.

The collection includes diverse media such as cyanotype reefs, clay creatures, murals, and collaborative sculptures. Inspired by educator Loris Malaguzzi’s concept that children express themselves through ‘a hundred languages’, the exhibition emphasizes various forms of communication including drawing, movement, play, and storytelling.

Harbour House, a community wellbeing and arts charity managed by the Harbour House Trust, facilitates these programmes to help local youth build confidence and engage with contemporary art. The projects are designed to allow young participants to shape the creative process with their own ideas and perspectives.
