Kingsley Agyemang denies scholarship corruption allegations

Dr. Kingsley Agyemang, the former Registrar of the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat, has denied allegations of corruption regarding the awarding of scholarships during the previous administration. Through his legal representatives, Sarkodie Baffour Awuah & Partners, Agyemang described recent claims against him as ‘false and misleading.’

The denial follows public comments made by Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Ireland, Sabah Zita Benson. Agyemang’s legal team criticized the High Commissioner’s decision to address the matter publicly, labeling her approach as ‘regrettable and unwarranted’ while formal investigations are still active.

Agyemang’s lawyers stated that he has fully cooperated with state security and investigative agencies and maintains that he performed his duties with ‘utmost diligence.’ He expressed confidence that the ongoing investigations will ultimately vindicate him and establish the facts of the matter.
