Kingsley Moghalu rejects Atiku Abubakar 2027 campaign appointment

Professor Kingsley Moghalu, the former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, has officially rejected his inclusion in the 2027 presidential campaign council for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Moghalu clarified that he was neither consulted nor did he provide consent for his name to be listed as a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate’s policy team. The campaign team had previously unveiled its organizational structure, naming Moghalu as a core member responsible for developing strategies regarding unemployment and Nigeria’s economic decline.

Moghalu stated that he has maintained a non-partisan posture since leaving active politics in 2022, choosing the path of statesmanship over partisanship. He noted that his current professional focus remains on his roles as President of the Institute for Governance and Economic Transformation (IGET Africa) and CEO of Sogato Strategies.
