Kingsmen Barbershop Harmony Chorus celebrates 35 years

The Kingsmen Barbershop Harmony Chorus held a special awards evening in Kingsbridge to celebrate its 35th anniversary. Founded in 1991 with an initial rehearsal of 12 men, the group has since performed domestically and internationally, including three tours to the United States, and has raised more than £100,000 for various charities.

During the event, Chairman Paul Harvey and master of ceremonies Stu Newberry presented several honors. Kevin Hamer received both the Harmony Award and the Barbershopper of the Year Award. Other recipients included Chris Lambart, who won the Jack Nation Trophy, and Ian Wooler, who received the Director's Award.

The evening also recognized long-term commitment through service badges. Tim Wyatt and Steve Hancock were honored for 30 years of service, while Gary Rowe received a 20-year badge. Several members, including Jim Stewart, Terry Weeks, Kevin Hamer, and Ian Wooler, were presented with 10-year badges.
